The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s presidential body, headed by Nasr Al-Hariri, held a virtual meeting with the Head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, and the Minister of Defense, Major General Salim Idris to discuss with them the military and field situation as well as the combat readiness of the Syrian National Army to fend off any possible attacks by Assad regime and its backers.
Participants in the meeting also discussed the SNA’s organizational structure, its decision to move their headquarters away from civilian gatherings, and the introduction of reforms within the SNA.
The presidential body commended the SNA’s decision as one of the most important decisions that establishes a new stage in the liberated areas at the administrative and organizational levels.
Participants stressed the need to abide by the SNA’s decision and to continue to work to develop the SNA and its administrative and military structure as key to establishing a professional army whose primary mission is to protect civilians and Syria’s territorial integrity.
Mustafa said that achieving security and stability in the liberated areas remains a top priority for SIG, adding that SNA is one of the most important pillars in repelling attacks on the liberated areas.
SIG’s Ministry of Defense on Tuesday issued a statement stressing that the SNA’s military formations moved their headquarters from the town of Ras Al-Ayn in rural al-Hasaka and the town of Afrin to camps near the battle frontlines.
The Ministry of Defense stressed that this move confirmed the SNA’s determination to secure the best conditions that guarantee the wellbeing of civilians in the liberated areas.
The Ministry stressed that SNA and the National Liberation Front will never let the Syrian people down and will spare no effort to ensure the wellbeing, security and stability of their people and defend them. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
