The Coordinator of the Al-Jazira and Euphrates Committee in the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, condemned the heinous crime that took place in the city of Raqqa against the teacher, Nour Al-Ahmad, who was killed along with her 8-year-old daughter, Rama, in her home in Al-Mishallab neighborhood. He stressed that the PYD terrorist militia is covering up the crime to avoid exposing the relationship between it and the perpetrators of the crime.
The crime triggered outrage in Raqqa as thousands of people demonstrated to condemn the killing of the mother and her daughter, demanding that the criminals be held accountable. Local activists and social media published pictures and videos showing the demonstrators who gathered in front of the victim’s house, then marched to Al-Naeem Square and toured several streets in the city.
Abdul Latif stressed that harboring gangs and committing crimes is the established approach of the PYD terrorist militia, which tried to disperse the demonstration and refused to meet the demands of the demonstrators.
Abdul Latif stressed the need to hold the perpetrators accountable, along with the major supporters of these gangs that spread terror among the people. He pointed out that these practices mirror those of the Assad regime, against which the Syrians revolted to get rid of its criminality.
