A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) recently paid a visit to the town of Ras al-Ayn in the rural al-Hasakah province. The delegation, headed by SOC’s Vice-President Abduahad Astepho, conducted a field tour of the local council, civil police, and military police to assess the progress of work and living conditions in the town.
In addition to Astepho, the delegation consisted of Abdel Basset Abdel-Latif, a member of the political committee, and Hussein Al-Raad, an SOC member. During their meetings, Astepho emphasized the need to improve the living and service situation in the region, and work towards providing an administrative model that represents the aspirations of the Syrian people.
Astepho also called for concerted efforts, cooperation, and coordination between all political, civil, and military institutions of the Syrian Revolution to meet these demands. He reaffirmed the SOC’s commitment to the demands of the Syrian people and the implementation of all UN resolutions on Syria, particularly the Geneva Communique of 2012, and UN Resolutions 2118 and 2254, in order to achieve a full political transition in the country.
