President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, and his accompanying delegation conducted an inspection of the progress of work and projects in the industrial zone in the town of Azaz in the Aleppo countryside on Monday. They examined the ongoing developments in the factories being set up in the region, engaging with tradesmen, investors, and factory owners during the visit.
The SOC’s delegation, comprising Bahjat al-Atassi, Muhammad Qaddah, Najib Rahmoun, and Atef Zureiq, also included Abdul Hakim al-Masri, the Minister of Finance and Economy in the Syrian Interim Government, and Ibrahim Darbala, the Deputy Head of the local council and the SOC’s representative.
Darbala emphasized that the project to establish the industrial zone commenced a year and a half ago. Traders were notified to provide a substantial space for building commercial projects, coupled with necessary facilitations and services. Highlighting the industrial zone’s vital role in the comprehensive development plans outlined by the interim government, Darbala expressed that it aims to create job opportunities for youth in the liberated areas and establish factories catering to the region’s needs, contributing to economic growth.
Al-Bahra commended the work of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underscoring the importance of overcoming obstacles faced by the Council through enhanced coordination and communication with the Syrian Interim Government.
