The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said it was closely monitoring the unfortunate incidents occurring on the Syrian-Turkish border, particularly the violations committed by some elements of the Turkish border guards. It condemned these violations and the harm they cause to innocent people.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the SOC called for the elements involved in the murder and torture of several Syrian young men two days ago to be held accountable, and emphasized the need to preserve the brotherly bonds between the Syrian and Turkish peoples.
The SOC also said it had already communicated with the Turkish government regarding these incidents and demanded that investigations be launched to determine the motives of the individuals involved and to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
The SOC extended its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and prays for God’s mercy and forgiveness for them. It also wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.
