President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, held a virtual meeting with the Arab Democratic Alliance in the Jazira and Euphrates Region and discussed with them the latest on the ground and political developments, especially the PYD’s increasing violations east of the Euphrates River.
The meeting brought together SOC’s Vice-president Oqab Yahya, Secretary of the political committee Riyad Al-Hassan, members of the political committee Salem Al-Muslet and Yasser Al-Farhan, and member of the General Assembly Ahmed Tomeh.
Al-Hariri stressed that the SOC is paying attention to all Syrian regions, including east of the Euphrates. He pointed out that there is a lot of work through the Committee which tracks the PYD militia’s violations.
Participants in the meeting stressed the importance of conveying the voice of the people of the region and their demands to international actors and the United Nations as well as exposing the PYD’s crimes and violations before the international community.
They also discussed several proposals to improve the living conditions east of the Euphrates, which would rein in the PYD militia and enable the local population to manage their areas by themselves.
Participants also stressed the importance of continued coordination to reach practical solutions that would help the local population solve their problems and prevent the PYD militia from further subjugating them.
