President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, along with his accompanying delegation, conducted a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Azaz in the Aleppo countryside on Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the economic and commercial conditions in the region and to listen to the major problems and challenges faced by businesses.
The SOC’s delegation included members Bahjat al-Atassi, Najib Rahmoun, and Atef Zureiq, along with the Minister of Finance and Economy in the Syrian Interim Government, Abdul Hakim al-Masri. Also present were Mohammed Hamdan, Head of the Local Council in Azaz, Ibrahim Derbala, Deputy Head and the SOC’s representative, and Ahmed Ashawi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with several Chamber members.
Discussions focused on the significance of boosting investment in the region to activate economic activity and generate new employment opportunities. Al-Bahra emphasized the importance and necessity of strengthening coordination and cooperation among executive institutions, chambers of commerce and industry, and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the interim government. The aim is to formulate a comprehensive economic plan for the region that will boost the local economy and enhance stability.
Al-Bahra expressed gratitude to Ahmed Ashawi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the members in Azaz for facilitating conditions for traders and business owners in the region, ultimately contributing to the increase in job opportunities and the flourishing of the local economy.
