The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Studies and Documentation Office and the Strategic Consulting Office held a workshop under the title “the Syrian scene in 2021” with the participants including members of the SOC’s political committee and General Assembly, representatives of the SOC’s executive institutions, major Syrian and Turkish research centers, and students from colleges of political science.
The workshop focused on prospects of the Geneva political process, the future of the Constitutional Committee, prospects for returning to negotiations of other tracks of the political process, and the Assad regime’s attempts to hold elections.
Participants also discussed the anticipated policy of the new US administration in Syria, the officials the Biden administration has appointed so far, and its implications for the Syrian conflict.
They also put forward perceptions and expectations about the internal scene in the four regions, namely the liberated areas, Idlib province, east of the Euphrates, and the regime-held areas. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
