The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) met with academics at the Strategic Fikr Center for Studies and discussed with them the studies and research centers in the liberated areas and their role in promoting the general Syrian awareness.
The academics talked about the goals of the First Syrian Academic Conference due to be held in the liberated areas in the coming weeks. They invited SOC’s President Nasr al-Hariri to participate in the event.
Participants in the meeting discussed the obstacles and challenges facing researchers and academics, the general situation in universities in the liberated areas, and the issue of securing recognition of Syrian diplomas. They put forward suggestions for solutions, with Al-Hariri promising to work on in the period to come.
They also talked about the importance of supporting the work of study centers in the liberated areas so as to help raise the Syrian general awareness and support Syrian national decision.
They also stressed the importance of providing facilitations with regard to the establishment of universities in the liberated areas as they stressed the need to step up investment in knowledge.
