President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr Al-Hariri, visited the local council in Afrin where he was briefed on the situation in the region, the people’s demands and problems.
The meeting brought together Coordinator of the SOC’s Office in rural Aleppo, Ahmed Al-Shehadi, members of the political committee Abdul Majid Barakat and Bahjat Atassi, member of the SOC’s General Assembly Ahmed Othman, Deputy Head of the local council in Afrin, Muhammad Sheikh Rashid, members of the Joint Committee for the Restitution of Rights and Addressing of Grievances, and representatives of the local community.
The SOC’s delegation listened to requests and demands by the local community and the difficulties they are facing. They also checked up on the work of the Joint Committee for the Restitution of Rights and Addressing of Grievances in Afrin and its returning of dozens of homes and shops to their rightful owners in recent weeks.
The Committee said that it had received 254 complaints, the majority of which were resolved. Al-Hariri praised the efforts of the committee and the local council as he stressed the need to work together to restore all properties to their rightful owners.
Al-Hariri also stressed the need to step support for the IDP and work on alleviating their suffering resulting from the Assad regime and its allies. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
