The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said that the PYD terrorist militia continues to recruit child soldiers, a crime which has been further exposed by the publication of photos of gravestones of children who were killed when they were between 14 and 17 years old, in addition to newly published videos showing 11 underage children carrying the militia’s banners.
In a press release issue on Tuesday, the SOC stressed that the recruitment of children by the PYD terrorist militia is an old and ongoing crime that constitutes a serious violation of children’s rights and international humanitarian law. The PYD militia is seeking to strengthen its military forces and then deploy children and minors into battles and terrorist operations.
The SOC also stressed that this militia is part of the Assad regime as it adopts its same criminal policies of killing, arrest, forced disappearance and terrorist acts. It is also cracking down on our people, especially the Kurds in the areas under its control.
The SOC also called for lifting the cover off this terrorist militia, stop supporting it, and holding it accountable for its serious violations against the Syrian people.
