SOC’s Civil Society Organizations Committee Meets ‘Youth of Good’ Volunteer Team

The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Committee of Civil Society Organizations held a virtual meeting with the ‘Youth of Good’ Volunteer Team in northwestern Syria to discuss the activities that the two sides will jointly undertake on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the start of the Syrian revolution.

The meeting brought together the SOC’s Coordinator of civil society organizations Zuhair Muhammad, SOC’s member Kifah Murad, members of the ‘Youth of Good’ Volunteer Team Ahmed Hindawi and Hammoud Al-Qais. They discussed ways of coordination and cooperation in order to unify the activities of the Syrian revolution.

Muhammad talked about the SOC’s efforts to reach out to all components of the Syrian people as the official national institution that represents the forces of the Syrian revolution and opposition in front of international bodies. He pointed out that the Syrian people must invest this international recognition and enhance communication, cooperation and coordination in the various activities serving the Syrian revolution.

Murad talked about the probable activities that the two sides can work on  as she commended the Team’s efforts to provide assistance to our people in the IDPs camps.

For his part, Coordinator of the Team, Ahmed Hindawi, indicated that they intend to organize events in public parks in the town of Azaz to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution. He said that the Team is looking forward for the activities to be sponsored by the SOC.

The two sides agreed to participate in the general program that the SOC is preparing on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution as well as to coordinate with the SOC’s General Secretariat with regard to media coverage and the proposed activities. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people’s unity within the same Syrian soil
is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its
symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes
against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
