A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) headed by President Salem al-Meslet visited the local council in Ras al-Ayn in rural Hasaka and discussed with them the situation in the town and the need to improve living conditions and basic services.
The delegation comprised SOC’s secretary of the political committee, Abdul Majeed Barakat, SOC’s members Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, Muhammad Wali, Muhammad Ali Issa, Yasser Al-Farhan, Hussein Al-Abdullah, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Faraj, Ibrahim Sardar Al-Malli, Hamida Al-Tahri, Vice President The Association of Independent Syrian Kurds Radif Mustafa, and Deputy Minister of Local Administration Saad Shweish.
Al-Meslet stressed the SOC’s keenness to effectively manage the areas east of the Euphrates, pointing to the need for concerted civil, military and political efforts to lift the siege imposed on Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad.
Moreover, he stressed the need to support stability in the region, and provide safe conditions to ensure the return of the displaced to their homes.
Al-Meslet praised the remarkable improvement in the town, both at the services and security levels, calling for action to provide more services to citizens.
Head of the local council in Ras Al-Ayn, Muhammad Ali Hamza, spoke about the work of the local council, stressing the council’s keenness to cooperate with all institutions in order to promote cooperation and serve the people of the region.
Hamza said that the local population depend on agriculture and livestock for their livelihood, adding that their basic needs are fodder and fertilizer.
