A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) toured the town of Afrin in northern rural Aleppo where it visited the local council and met with the SOC’s representative Muhammad Rashid to check up on the work in the offices. The visit came as a part of a series of meetings that SOC’s President Salem Al-Meslet began on Monday.
The delegation comprised members of the SOC’s political committee Abdelbaset Abdullatif, Bahjat Al Atassi and Muhammad Qaddah, coordinator of the SOC’s office in the liberated areas Najib Rahmoun, and members of the General Assembly Atef Zureik and Muhammad Mukhlif.
The delegation also visited the Liberation and Construction Movement and the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds, the Revolutionary Council of Houran, and dignitaries from the people of Dara’a who were displaced to northern Syria.
The delegation stressed the importance of ensuring the security and stability of the region, ensuring the return of all people to their homes, and improving basic services and living conditions.
