A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition, led by President Salem Al-Meslet, visited the Military Justice Department in the Aleppo province’s town of Al-Raie. During this visit, the delegation held a constructive meeting with Brigadier General Arafat Al-Hamoud, Director of the Military Justice Department, alongside other military judges.
Comprising Vice President Abdul Hakim Bashar, as well as SOC members Ahmed Tomeh and Ayman Al-Asimi, the delegation engaged in discussions centered around the ongoing administration of military justice. They received comprehensive insights into the department’s progress and operations, while also addressing key challenges and obstacles that impede further advancements and improvements.
The delegation was provided with an overview of the cases being adjudicated by the military judiciary. Moreover, they delved into the existing laws and regulations governing military justice. The discussion extended to encompass cases involving civilians from areas under regime control, and also explored cases concerning detainees from Syria’s northern Daraa province.
Al-Meslet expressed commendation for the efforts of the Military Justice Department. He underlined the significance of continued efforts to enhance the administration of liberated regions, with the ultimate aim of presenting a distinguished administrative model within Syria.
