The Foreign Relations Department of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) has sent letters to foreign ambassadors about the damage caused by the earthquake in Syria and Türkiye, along with reports from the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit’s study of the emergency needs in liberated northern Syria.
The department has instructed SOC representatives to communicate with foreign countries and the United Nations regarding the humanitarian disaster and to coordinate mechanisms for delivering aid from Syrian communities abroad to those affected.
The department is working to open borders and crossings for local and international organizations to provide aid, including medical teams, rescue teams and equipment, daily necessities, fuel, heating, tents, blankets, and shelters.
The department is also working with Turkish authorities to facilitate individual aid from Türkiye to northern Syria and the movement of Syrian refugees from affected southern regions to safer areas in Türkiye.
