Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdelbaset Abdullatif, submitted a periodic report to the General Secretariat detailing its work, which focused on strengthening institutional work, promoting intra-Syrian communications, and providing the necessary support for the SOC’s departments, offices and committees.
Abdullatif gave an overview on the work of the General Secretariat in strengthening the presence of the SOC in the liberated areas by supporting and empowering the activities of the SOC’s offices in the towns of Azaz and Al-Rai in rural Aleppo. Its work also focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination with the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit in operational issues related to servicing civilians in the liberated areas and neighboring host countries.
Abdullatif also highlighted the meetings held by the General Secretariat with various Syrian actors and organizations, in addition to coordination with the Department of Foreign Relations with regard to organizing and strengthening the work of the SOC’s offices and foreign missions in Western and Arab states.
He also talked about the role of the General Secretariat in following up the work of the joint Syrian-Turkish Committee tasked with resolving the issues facing Syrian nationals in Turkey and settling their legal status. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
