Zuhair Muhammad, a member of the political committee and the Coordinator of the Office of Civil Society Organizations, presented the Office’s work report during the 68th session of the General Assembly of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC).
The report outlined the responsibilities of the Office, which include forging partnerships, identifying Syrian organizations, supporting internal organizations, coordinating joint activities, representing the organizations’ interests, and defining their sphere of influence.
Furthermore, the report detailed the Office’s key activities, including productive visits to various civil society organizations. Notable among these were visits to the Platform of Civil Society Organizations, the Lawyers and Doctors for Human Rights Organization, the Pioneers Organization, the Bonyan Organization, and the Orange Organization. These visits were in line with the plan of civil society organizations and the overarching strategy of the SOC.
Additionally, the report contained suggestions and recommendations stemming from a health sector workshop that took place in Gaziantep on August 18. This workshop brought together 15 Syrian organizations working in the health sector in northwestern Syria. The recommendations aimed to shape the strategy and policies for the health sector’s work, with plans to present these recommendations to Turkish authorities.
