The Syrian Karate Federation of the Syrian National Olympic Committee concluded a training course for karate coaches and referees in the liberated areas. The training course, which lasted for two days, was held under the supervision of the SOC’s Office of Syndicates and Unions.
Participants in the course received certificates in training and refereeing as part of the Olympic Committee’s and Office’s plan to organize and develop sports activities in the freed territories.
The training course brought together Secretary-General of the Syrian National Olympic Committee Ahmad Al-Ali, Committee member Ahmed Al-Khatib, Head of the Athletics Office Adnan Qaddour, member of the Syrian Karate Federation Mustafa Hamidou, Deputy Head Saeed Haj Khalaf, and Head of the Special Sports Federation Ibrahim Shalash.
Al-Ali gave a lecture on the science of training and a practical one on the methods of training on kata, while Hamidou gave another lecture on physical preparation for karate. Shalash gave a lecture on sports medicine, sports injuries, sports food and the role of sports in fighting coronavirus.
The trainees were given theoretical and practical lectures as well as certificates that would qualify them to effectively organize sports activities in the liberated areas and rebuild the Syrian sports on sound scientific foundations. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
