The political committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) convened its regular meeting on Thursday at the headquarters of the Syrian Interim Government in the town of Al-Raie in the Aleppo countryside. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Defense, Finance, and Economy of the Syrian Interim Government.
During the meeting, they reviewed the recent work of the interim government and its achievements despite the challenges it faces. Discussions focused on the importance of improving security and stability to encourage investment in the region and foster its development.
SOC’s President, Hadi Al-Bahra, commended the efforts of the ministries within the interim government in providing services to civilians in the liberated areas. He emphasized the need to employ all available means to advance the region and realize the aspirations of Syrians for a better future.
Minister of Finance and Economy, Abdel Hakim Al-Masri, provided an overview of the outcomes of the first investment conference held in Al-Raie last month. He highlighted the conference’s significance in spotlighting the liberated areas and improving the investment landscape within them.
Al-Masri also discussed the recent initiatives of the interim government, including support for farmers with seeds and necessary logistics, as well as the water supply project for the town of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo.
Brigadier General Hussein Hamadeh, the Minister of Defense, addressed the security situation in the liberated areas and outlined the ministry’s plans to organize operations. He also mentioned preparations for establishing a military college to enhance the capabilities of fighters in the Syrian National Army.
Hamadeh underscored the ministry’s ongoing efforts to maintain security, oversee border crossings, and develop military judiciary structures. Additionally, awareness programs for Syrian National Army fighters are being prepared.
