President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, sent a congratulatory letter to the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, on the occasion of her appointment in her new post.
Al-Meslet wished Baerbock success in her new post as he emphasized the close relationship between the Syrian and German peoples. He also expressed his appreciation for Germany’s role in supporting the rights of the Syrian people in achieving freedom, dignity and democracy.
He also stressed the importance of Germany’s role in supporting the efforts to bring about a genuine political transition in Syria in accordance with the Geneva Communique of 2012, UN Security Council Resolutions 2118 and 2254, and UN General Assembly Resolution 67/262 to fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people and help end the Syrian tragedy.
