President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, and his accompanying delegation met with civil and political groupings and dignitaries in northern rural Aleppo, including the Future Syria Conglomerate. They discussed the latest political and field developments in Syria.
The SOC’s delegation included Secretary of the political committee Abdul Majeed Barakat, members of the political committee Badr Jamous, Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, Munther Serras, Bahjat Al-Atassi, and members of the General Assembly Ahmed Al-Shehadi, Najib Rahmoun, and Atef Zureik.
The meeting brought together Secretary-General of the Future Syria Conglomerate, Amer Mona, and members of the Conglomerate’s founders, in addition to local notables.
Al-Meslet gave an overview on the latest political and field developments in Syria, stressing the importance of these meetings. He said: “Our national commonalities and positions are one. Our efforts must therefore be clear and be directed towards a common goal.”
Al-Meslet stressed the need to unify efforts at the political and field levels in order to achieve the goals of the Syrian Revolution, namely to overthrow the Assad regime and meet the demands of the Syrian people for freedom, justice and dignity. He also stressed that unity is crucial to transition Syria to a better future through a genuine political transition that guarantees democratic transformation in the country and provides a free and dignified life for all Syrian citizens.
Al-Meslet listened to the views and suggestions of the attendees on the living conditions in northwestern Syria, political activity, and the SOC’s role and the reform requirements.
