President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, met with the leaders of the National Front for Liberation and the Future Syria Conglomerate and discussed with them the general conditions in the region, living and field conditions, and developments in the political process.
Al-Meslet was accompanied by SOC’s members Muhammad Yassin, Muhammad Sheikh Rashid, Atef Zureik, Haitham Shihabi, and Muhammad Salem Al-Makhlif.
Al-Meslet stressed the need to intensify visits and periodic meetings in order to find about the problems that people are going through in the liberated areas and discuss ways to address them. He also stressed the need to inform them of the latest political developments regarding Syria in international forums.
Al-Meslet also stressed that popular demonstrations and freedom of expression are a right for all Syrians, and that they are one of the most important gains of the Syrian revolution. He said that the SOC is a supporter and guarantor of these demonstrations in the liberated areas, as he reaffirmed the SOC’s commitment to the goals of the Syrian revolution and political transition in accordance with UN Resolution 2254.
For their part, the leaders of the Front and Conglomerate pointed to the SOC’s closeness to the street more than ever, noting the importance of frequent meetings. They pointed out that the SOC’s presence became bigger and better, stressing the importance of constructive criticism and its role in reform and avoiding mistakes.
