President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, met with the representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Hatay province Devrim Öztürk on Monday and discussed with him the affairs of Syrian refugees in the province. He stressed the need to preserve brotherly relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples, and to hold all wrongdoers to account in order to prevent any new crimes.
In attendance was also, Salim Idris, member of the SOC’s political committee. Al-Meslet pointed out that the relationship between the Syrian and Turkish peoples is old and deep-rooted, and remains a strong relationship that no one can disrupt. He stressed the importance of attributing wrong actions to individuals rather that to the society as a whole.
Al-Meslet also stressed that the Syrian refugees in Turkey trust the Turkish judiciary, which will take the appropriate measures to punish the person accused of killing the young man Faris Al-Ali.
For his part, Ambassador Mr. Öztürk stressed that the police played their role, and that the Turkish judiciary would do its duty to prevent such crimes.
