President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition Nasr al-Hariri, met with representatives of the Syrian Teachers Forum in Turkey and discussed with them the situation of teachers and students.
The meeting revolved around the reality of Syrian teachers in Turkey and ways of permanent coordination with the aim of developing a common vision to solve the problems facing teachers and students in Turkey.
Representatives of the forum put forward a set of proposals and demands aimed at improving the reality of their work, especially with regard to developing the educational situation of the Syrian students as well as improving their legal status and files within the official Turkish authorities and in the UNICEF programs.
For his part, SOC’s President expressed his appreciation to the Syrian professors and teachers. He said: “Those responsible for raising the future generation are the ones who are able to build the real future.” He stressed the need to pay attention to the education of our children, especially in Turkey and the host countries where there has been a cultural and linguistic interruption in the educational process as well as an interruption at the level of identity in some host countries.
Al-Hariri stressed that the SOC is working to improve the reality of Syrian civilians in the liberated areas and host countries, noting that the SOC will consider the proposals submitted by the teachers and communicate with Turkish authorities and international organizations to meet those demands and proposals.
