President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the Foreign Ministry in the Turkish capital, Ankara and discussed with him the latest developments on the ground and in the political process.
The two sides underscored the need to preserve the ceasefire agreement in the liberated areas and to prevent the Assad regime from continuing to commit violations against civilians.
The two sides also stressed the need to reach a political solution in accordance with UN resolutions, most importantly UN Security Council resolution 2254. They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the third round of the Constitutional Committee due to be held in Geneva next Monday.
The two sides stressed the need to advance the work of the Constitutional Committee, discuss the constitutional provisions, and go beyond discussing the procedural matters.
Cavusoglu reaffirmed his country’s support for the SOC in representing the Syrian people and achieve their aspirations for freedom, dignity, and democratic transition. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
