President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, received Dr. Muhammad Bakr Ghbeis, President of Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA). The meeting revolved around the role of civil organizations and Syrian communities in supporting the Syrian Revolution. The two sides also discussed the vision of the new SOC’s leadership in the upcoming phase.
Al-Meslet talked about the SOC’s plan of action for the next stage, making it clear that the SOC will work under the slogan ‘One Hand’ which expresses building internal cohesion and extending bridges with the political, military, civil and revolutionary institutions of the revolution, and with Syrians at home and abroad world. He pointed out that the new plan of action aims to unify visions and revolutionary action for the future and freedom of Syria.
Al-Meslet stressed the important role of the Syrian communities around the world in highlighting the Syrian revolution and supporting its aspirations. He also underscored the importance of coordination with the relevant organizations to mobilize and advocate for the aspirations of the Syrian people, namely for getting rid of the murderous regime and putting an end to the atrocities it is committing with Iranian and Russian partnership.
Coordinator of the SOC’s Office of Syrian Communities Abroad, Yahya Maktabi, said that the SOC will also focus on working with Washington, Ankara, and Riyadh in view of their considerable influence in the Syrian scene.
For his part, Dr. Ghbeis gave an overview on C4SSA’s major contributions to supporting the Syrian people’s cause, most notably its contribution to the adoption of the Caesar Act against the head of the Assad regime and its pillars. Both sides agreed to hold further meetings, consultations and coordination in all issues, especially in view of the US’s pivotal role in Syria. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
