President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, sent a congratulatory letter to new US President, Joe Biden, expressing his trust that the United States will continue to play its pivotal and pioneering role in the international community and to support international peace and security.
Al-Hariri expressed his highest regards for the “tremendous, continuous efforts of the United States of America in supporting the noble cause of the Syrian people in their quest for freedom and democracy.”
He stressed the importance of taking actual steps to achieve a complete and real political transition, in accordance with the Geneva Communique of 2012, Security Council Resolutions 2118 and 2254 and UN General Assembly Resolution 67/262 to reach a comprehensive political solution that fulfils the aspirations of the Syrian people, and helps them in overcoming this difficult plight and in building a state based on freedom, justice and good governance.
