President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, and Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Abdurrahman Mustafa, inaugurated the General Customs building at Al-Rai border crossing, Trade and Industry Directorate building, and Al-Rai Local Council building in rural Aleppo.
Participants in the ceremony included SOC’s Secretary-General, Abdul Basit Abd al-Latif, member of the political committee, Bahjat Atassi, SIG’s ministers, Director General for Syria at the Turkish MFA, Selçuk Ünal, Governor of Kilis province, his Deputy Fehmi Sinan Niyazi.
The move coincided with the fourth anniversary of the launch of Operation Shield of the Euphrates by which the Syrian National Army and Turkish armed forces freed the region from terrorist organizations.
Participants toured the new buildings where they visited the departments. They discussed the plan of action of these new institutions and the major challenges and difficulties they will likely face.
Al-Hariri stressed that August 24 will remain a milestone in the course of the Syrian revolution and the close relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples as it ushered in the existence of liberated areas in which civilians could live in safety and stability.
He stressed the need to improve the management of these areas through the SOC’s executive arms so as to improve the living conditions and the basic services. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
