The delegation of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) to the Arab Republic of Egypt visited the Syria Al-Ghad School which holds the largest number of Syrian students in Cairo. They were briefed by the administration and the teaching staff about the educational reality in the school and the conditions of Syrian education abroad.
SOC’s President Salem Al-Meslet stressed the importance of continued communication with the new Syrian generation in all the visits made by the SOC to host countries. He pointed out that the Syrian students in the diaspora are the hope of Syria and the ones who will make a bright future for their country. He also stressed that outstanding Syrian students in the host countries are the ambassadors of the Syrian people and the Syrian revolution to the outside world.
Al-Meslet commended the efforts being made by civil society institutions in these circumstances. He thanked the brotherly Egyptian people who host hundreds of thousands of Syrian nationals as he expressed the love and appreciation that the Syrian people have for Egypt and its people.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syria al-Ghad Foundation, Mulham Al-Khan, spoke about the facilitations being provided to Syrian institutions and licensed associations in Egypt. He also talked about the great role of Egyptian institutions and the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The SOC’s delegation began an official visit to the Arab League in Cairo on Sunday, during which it met with the Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki. The two sides discussed ways to revitalize the political process and push for political transition in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
The delegation comprised SOC’s Vice-president for Foreign Relations, Abdulahad Astepho, Secretary General Haitham Rahma, and member of the Political Committee Badr Jamous.
