Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Abdelbaset Abdullatif, condemned the terrorist bombing that ripped through the town of Tal Abyad in rural Raqqa as he demanded an end to the support for the PYD militia, the main culprit for the bombing.
The bombing, which rocked central Tal Abyad on Tuesday, killed six civilians, including three children, and wounded seven others.
Local activists pointed out that the explosion was carried out using a car bomb which caused widespread damage to nearby shops and civilian homes. The local police and public security forces imposed a security cordon around the site of the explosion.
Abdullatif stressed that targeting civilians with car bombs is “a typical tactic of the Qandil militias of the PKK group.”
“There is no benign and terrorism and malicious terrorism. Terrorism is one and the same, and it is clear to anyone who wants to fight it, and its victims are always innocent civilians,” Abdullatif added.
He stressed that “peace cannot prevail without real international will to dry up the sources of terrorism and end support for these militias.”
Abdullatif called for stepping up and expediting the efforts to empower the police and public security institutions as well as for strengthening solidarity with the people to confront the cowardly terrorism that targets civilians. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
