The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Secretary-General Abdelbaset Abdullatif and Head of the Syrian National Commission for the Affairs of Detainees and Missing Persons, Yasser Al-Farhan, met with members of the SOC’s legal office in rural Aleppo.
Abdullatif was briefed on the progress of work in the office, and the issues that the office is working on, especially those related to crimes and violations being committed by the Assad regime and its backers against civilians. He praised the efforts to organize and develop the work of the office.
The two sides discussed the issues related to human rights, stressing the need to overcome difficulties and reach the desired goals.
Al-Farhan talked about the need to focus on redressing victims and preventing impunity for human rights abuses.
He also stressed the importance of exposing the systematic crimes being committed by the Assad regime, which constitute crimes against humanity. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
