Vice-president of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdel Hakim Bashar, stressed that the PYD militia’s arrest of dissident teachers in Raqqa province aims to undermine education and spread ignorance so as it continues to impose its alien agenda on the Syrian people and their culture.
Bashar said that this reprehensible act is inherent in the nature and behavior of this militia that mainly recruits uneducated people into its ranks. He made it clear that this act dem0nstratres the PYD’s hostility to knowledge and its fear of educated people.
The PYD militia has recently arrested seven teachers in the town of Tabqa in Raqqa province on charges of provocation against its policies.
Local activists reported that a patrol of the PYD militia raided three private institutes in Tabqa and arrested seven teachers, including three female teachers.
The terrorist PYD militia pursues the same policies that the Assad regime uses to intimidate whomever they suspect of opposing their policies or communicating with parties they consider hostile. According to rights groups, hundreds of detainees have died under torture in PYD prisons.
