The Syrian Coalition condemns in the strongest terms “the world’s ongoing silence on Assad’s daily industrial crimes against the Syrian people,”following a barrel bomb attack that trageted Al Sha’ar district in Aleppo, killing at least 20 civilians and injuring dozens. Salem al-Meslet, spokesman for the Syrian Coalition, warns that “the Assad regime will continue to exploit the international anti-ISIS alliance and escalate its atrocities aimed at spreading chaos and breaking the will of the Syrian people. Arming the Free Syrian Army in conjunction with directing military strikes against regime and ISIS positions is the only feasible way to end the suffering of civilians in Syria.” President Hadi al-Bahra said earlier that “defeating ISIS requires deploying ground troops in conjunction with the air strikes launched by the international anti-ISIS coalition in order to fill the vacuum that would ensue after driving ISIS out of the areas under their control,” in an interview with the Anadolu news agency. “Defeating ISIS also requires coordination between the international coalition and the Free Syrian Army, the only force capable of eradicating terrorism and its root cause, namely the Assad regime which largely created this monster by deliberately setting free the extremists who fueled ISIS. We renew our outright rejection of both the Assad regime and ISIS and our commitment to build a Syria where all its citizens live free and with dignity regardless of their religion, sect or ethnicity.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
