The Syrian Coalition stress that the Assad regime and its allies are seeking, through the horrific massacres they are committing, “to abort the convening of any conference on Syria and to empty it of any meaning or the ability to produce a political solution.” The Syrian Coalition also point out that Assad’s actions “must move the international community to implement the resolutions issued in response to those actions and to exercise pressure on Assad regime and his allies.” The Syrian Coalition said in a statement issued yesterday that the Assad regime has been dropping explosive containers and barrel bombs on the city of Al Bab in rural Aleppo for the last two days that killed 29 people on Saturday, November 30, and 26 on Sunday, December 1, in addition to a large number of injuries and massive destruction of homes and infrastructure in the city. The Syrian Coalition made it clear that Assad regime “is trying to exploit the inaction of the international community and its complete silence to commit as much as possible of the killings, displacement and destruction,” in an effort to cover up the losses they have been suffering on many major fronts, and after the great progress that the FSA has achieved in Ghota, Aleppo and Kalamoon. Furthermore, the Syrian Coalition held “the international community a large part of the responsibility for these horrific massacres,” calling on the FSA to continue the protection of civilians across Syria.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
