The Syrian National Coalition’s Department of Institutions and Governmental Affairs convened to discuss the latest developments in the work of the Interim Syrian Government (SIG) in the liberated areas.
SIG’s Head Abdurrahman Mustafa talked about the tour he and SIG’s ministers conducted to towns and villages in the liberated areas. He gave and overview of services and effective institutions in all sectors and the mechanisms of work.
Mustafa pointed out that there were still many challenges facing the reality of work and civilians in the liberated areas. He added that SIG’s ministers are working to find appropriate solutions, achieve the goals and vision laid out by SIG to manage the liberated areas, and improve stability and security.
Moreover, Mustafa talked about the progress made in unifying the opposition armed groups, the latest of which was the merger between the Syrian National Army and the National Liberation Front. He stressed they were carrying on with the efforts to establish a professional national army in accordance with international standards.
The Department reaffirmed the role of the Coalition in supporting SIG’s efforts and assisting it through the offices of the Coalition and its committees with the aim of achieve a complementary role between the two sides at the political and administrative levels.
