The Syrian Coalition calls on “our brothers in Turkey to open the borders and facilitate the entry of all the escapees from ISIS’s onslaught on the town of Ayn al-Arab and its surroundings. More than 7,000 civilians, mostly women and children, have been reportedly stranded on the Syrian-Turkish borders since Thursday morning amid harsh humanitarian conditions. We also call on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent measures and provide the escapees with the necessary aid. The town of Ayn al-Arab (Kobanî) northeast of Aleppo has been subjected to a siege carried out by the ISIS militants alongside intense shelling that caused a mass exodus mass exodus of civilians from the neighboring villages of Kaalak, Zark Qumshi, Zalkhek, and Turaman. The Syrian Coalition condemns ISIS’s brutal tactics and calls on Turkish authorities to open borders in the area and provide refuge to those fleeing from the barbaric group.
