The Syrian Coalition’s foreign mission and the Syrian community in Germany calls for a sit-in in Berlin to mark the second anniversary of the Assad regime’s chemical attack on eastern Ghouta and to show solidarity with Douma where over 120 civilians were killed in regime air strikes on a marketplace in the town.
Bassam Al-Abdullah, the Syrian Coalition’s representative to Germany, invites all free Syrians and friends of the Syrian people in Germany to participate in the sit-in, to pay homage to the victims of the Ghouta massacre and to all victims of Assad’s war on the Syrian people, and to decry the international silence and passiveness toward the perpetrators of this massacre.
The sit-in will be held in front of the historic Brandenburg Gate in downtown Berlin on Friday on August 21 at 6:00 PM.
Though two years have passed since Assad committed this horrible massacre using chemical weapons in eastern Ghouta, he stills kills Syrians using all types of weaponry. The last of these was the barbaric bombing of a marketplace in Douma in eastern Ghouta on August 16, leaving over 120 civilians dead, mostly women and children. This carnage took place just few days ahead of the second anniversary of the Ghouta chemical attack which killed more than 1,500 people. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
