Secretary-General of the Syrian Coalition Mohammed Yahya Maktabi sent a letter of congratulations to the Kurdish National Council for successfully holding the third conference in Al-Qamishli.
“We hope that the Kurdish National Council will play an active in the Kurdish areas and contribute to building bridges of love and brotherhood between the region’s components: Arabs, Kurds, and Assyrians and also will work to heal the rift between the spectra of the Syrian society caused by enemies of the Syrian people,” Maktabi said.
He stresses the aspirations of all different Syrian people for freedom and dignity, emphasizing Syria’s Kurds rights to achieve their legitimate nationalistic aspirations according to international norms and conventions.
Maktabi calls upon “our people in Al-Hasaka province: Arabs and Kurds, and Assyrians to unite and work hand in hand in the fight against the tyrannical regime and ISIS in order to build a pluralistic democratic Syria. He also calls for renouncing anything that might stir up sedition or strife among the social components in the area.
It is worth mentioning that the National Kurdish Council’s third conference began recently in Al-Qamishli with the participation of 264 members from various predominantly Kurdish towns and villages and delegates from abroad under the slogan “For democratic, federal, parliamentary Syria with multiple nationalities and religions.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
