Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet strongly condemns the participation of the militias of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine- General Command belonging to Ahmed Jibril in the ongoing assault being launched by regime forces and the Hezbollah militia on the town of Zabadani in Rural Damascus.
Videos posted on the internet show Jibril militiamen bombing Zabadani while brazenly shouting out “At your service o Aqsa.”
Meslet said addressing Jibril: “It is not the Assad regime that gave your group refuge in Syria, but the Syrian people just for the sake of Palestine and its great people, which are at the heart of every Syrian citizen. However, instead of duly rewarding the Syrian people, you turned your group to a militia as murderous and thuggish as the Assad militias when the revolution broke out against the Assad regime and put it at the service of the Assad regime.”
Meslet added that “many of the Palestinian movements based in Syria has assumed an honorable position of the Syrian revolution, stressing that Syria has been and will remain committed to the Palestinian cause and the nation’s causes in general. Our siding with our Palestinian brethren will not be distracted by the presence of the Assad regime and its allies whose false claims of resistance can no longer be taken granted.”
Meslet concluded his remarks saying that “”while I deplore the criminal behavior of Jibril and his group; I salute the Palestinian-Syrian heroes who remain steadfast in the battle for dignity and freedom in the Yarmouk camp, Damascus Ghouta and every part of Syria. We stress that our, cause, blood and enemy is one and victory will ultimately be on our side.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
