The Syrian Coalition congratulated the Syrian people on their “determination to establish freedom and democracy. The SC reiterates that soon after the removal of the regime of tyranny, the people of Syria will hold elections nationwide and celebrate their freedom.” On Thursday December 5, residents of Aleppo renewed their democratic triumph by holding the second local council election in Aleppo and rural Aleppo after 43 years of tyranny and exclusion. This is the second time the people of Aleppo democratically choose their legitimate representatives in local councils, in a strong challenge to the authority of the regime and its mercenaries who are murdering the Syrian people after rising up, calling for freedom and toppling of the Assad regime.
