The Syrian Coalition praised in a statement “the popular uprising against Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS). This rejection of ISIS highlights the real demands of the Syrian people who expressed them during the demonstrations that swept across Syria, especially the city of Aleppo.” The Coalition described these moves as the real option of the Syrians which emanates from the social base of the revolution. These moves were “instantly supported by the FSA fighters who embarked on many operations to deter ISIS, stressing the FSA’s commitment to the principles of the revolution and its advocacy of the Syrians’’ interests,” the statement added. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
