A senior member of the Syrian Coalition said that responding to “the Russian invitation to visit Moscow will be determined by the next president of the Syrian Coalition. The senior member said also that the Syrian Coalition set the initial date for the visit to Moscow on 13 and 14 of the current month, and that the delegation would be headed by the Syrian Coalition’s chief President in the event of accepting the invitation. The Syrian Coalition’s General Assembly will elect a new president on 5 and 6 of this month.” Ahmad Assi Jarba, the head of the Syrian Coalition, announced earlier his intention to “convince the Russian officials that their best interests lie with the Syrian people and not with the Assad regime.” The Russian invitation comes amid harsh criticism by the Syrian Coalition of the Russian position towards the Syrian situation.” Hadi Bahra, member of the Syrian Coalition’s Political Committee said earlier that Russia is “responsible for the direct military intervention of the militias of terrorist Hezbollah and Abu al Fadl al Abbas Brigade and Iran.” Bahra called on the Russian government “to be more positive and pressure Assad to stop barrel bomb attacks on the civilians, especially in Aleppo, and to suspend its military support to the regime.” (Source: Coalition)
