Nasr al-Hariri, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, extends sincere condolences to the families of Syrian children who died yesterday in rural Idlib after receiving contaminated doses of the measles vaccine in the vaccination campaign initiated by the Syrian interim government two days ago in the liberated areas. Hariri also said that “the Syrian Coalition began coordinating with the interim government to open investigations and gather evidence and information on the background of the incident. Hariri also call on the citizens not to persuade by the rumors aimed at creating chaos and panic among the people. We will not spare any effort to uncover the circumstances that lead to this sorrowful incident and the live and safety of the Syrian people will remain our top priority.” Eight children died in the town of Jarjanaz after they were injected with contaminated dozes of the measles vaccine, while 50 more were in critical condition.
