After receiving a letter from the United Medical Office in Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian Coalition called on international relief organizations to deliver humanitarian aid and medical supplies to the besieged areas within Syrian cities. The Syrian Collation pointed out that the Red Crescent and the Red Cross moved all their activities to regime-held areas, and added that “the humanitarian assistance in Eastern and Western Ghouta and Dara’a has completely stopped,” and that “the number of deaths is increasing continuously due to lack of equipment and medical staff in these areas.” The Syrian Coalition stressed in a press statement that “the humanitarian situation is getting worse with the passage of time, because of the inability of volunteers to transport and treat the wounded, as well as the acute shortage of food which increases exposure of the most vulnerable people, such as women and children, to epidemic diseases.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
