Mohammed Hussein Qaddah, Vice President of the Syrian Coalition, said that Assad’s aircraft carried out two airstrikes yesterday evening on the towns of Kafr Amim and Ehsim in rural Idlib, killing 42 civilians, mostly women and children, and wounding many others. The death toll is likely to rise as many civilians are still trapped under the rubble of their homes. Qaddah decries “this cowardly act aimed at spreading panic and fear among the civilians and at covering up the Assad regime’s heavy losses in the ongoing war. The Assad regime has lately stepped up indiscriminate bombardment on many cities and towns across Syria, exploiting the international community’s preoccupation with fighting ISIS. The Assad regime’s continuous massacres against the unarmed civilians provide further evidence of the urgent need to take firm positions towards Assad to deter his killing machine.” Furthermore, Qaddah renews demands for speeding up the arming of the Free Syrian Army, especially after the U.S. Secretary of State confirmation that the international community made a mistake when it left the FSA alone in the battle against terrorism throughout the last two years. He also calls for expanding the U.S. plan to arm the FSA to include providing advanced weapons and to neutralize Assad’s air force. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
