The Syrian Coalition thanks the friendly countries, local and international organizations that took immediate action to help the Syrian refugees cope with the bitter cold hitting the region. Suheir Atassi, head of the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) said that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and Turkey has already began to provide aid to the Syrian refugees affected by the snowstorm sweeping the region. She pointed out that the United States, Great Britain, France and several other friendly are moving to provide aid to the Syrian refugees. She also said that ACU has budgeted $700,000 USD as cash aid to around 3,000 households residing in refugee camps and material aid worth of $500,000 USD. Moreover, ACU distributed 8,200 blankets, plastic sheeting, and 7,500 packages of baby milk to displaced people in rural Idlib and rural Aleppo. It also coordinated the delivery of and 40 tons of flour to refugee camps near the Turkish border, and delivered tents, food baskets, baby milk to the internally displaced people in Al Yamdiya camp in rural Latakia.
