Syrian Coalition Welcomes the EU’s Calls for Forming Alliance Against Terror

The Syrian Coalition welcomes the European Union’s calls to create an alliance with Arab and Islamic countries to counter terrorism, stressing the need to immediately add the Assad regime at the top of the list of terrorist regimes and rid the Syrian people and the world of its criminality. “The events of the past four years have proven that the most dangerous terrorist organizations grew and festered under the supervision of regimes that sponsor terrorism and use it as a means to achieve political goals,” Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet said. “The continued ignoring of Assad’s role in promoting terrorism would have catastrophic consequences on Syria and the entire region. The Assad regime’s manufacturing and building of terrorist cells and organizations has been well documented by many local and international rights groups. Promoting justice and helping the oppressed regain their rights and fundamental freedoms as well as resolving disputes and conflicts under which terrorism flourish is the only means to dry up the sources of terrorism.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
