The Minister of Finance and Economy in the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Abdul Hakim al-Masri, opened a new bakery in the town of Qabbasin in northern rural Aleppo, which is the fifth of its kind in the region. It will be run by the General Foundation of Grains – the General Foundation of Bakeries.
The General Director of the General Foundation of Bakeries, Ali Al-Obeid, said that the production capacity of the bakery is 10,000 loaves per hour, or approximately 7,000 packs of bread per day. He said that one pack of bread weighs 1.2 kg and will be sold for two Turkish liras.
Al-Obeid pointed out that the Qabbasin bakery will cover the needs of nearly 30,000 people, with a staff of 25 workers. It was established with support from the Syrian Recovery Trust Fund.
