The Syrian Interim Government (SIG) presented a detailed report on its work throughout the past year to the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) General Assembly at its 57th session. The report covered the work of SIG’s ministries and affiliated institutions.
The report indicated that SIG is providing basic services and has made reasonable achievements despite the various difficulties, obstacles and limited resources.
The report also highlighted the major decisions made by SIG in the areas of health, education, security and living conditions in the liberated areas. It also detailed the official meetings as well as visits to the local councils and revolutionary bodies in the liberated areas.
The report also provided an overview on the work of SIG’s ministries, stressing that they are proceeding according to detailed plans that correspond with the developments in the Syrian reality.
With regard to the work of the Ministry of Health, the report stated that the Ministry has been following up on the COVID-19 vaccination campaign since its inception. It indicated that the Ministry is providing advocacy, supervision and planning regarding the percentages of the population, the type of vaccines, and the mechanism of work in general.
With regard to education, the report cited the considerable efforts SIG is making to improve the reality of education. The Assembly also discussed the conditions of students, the curricula and the academic plan.
Moreover, the report highlighted SIG’s efforts to provide support and services to the population in the liberated areas through international meetings and gatherings, most notably with delegations from the European Union, Britain, and the United States both inside and outside Syria.
